Each class will receive one 40 minute lesson per week. The greater
emphasis will be on the aural/oral skills. Writing will involve simple
labelling and copying exercises.
Since this is the first year at this level, there will be some overlap
of the topics begun in Year 3, because these students, too, are beginning
French for the first time.
The proposed
topics to be covered are:
Introductions
Dates
Colours
Greetings
The seasons
Age
Farewells
The French Alphabet

As for culture, such as vital element of any Language Other Than
English, we will focus on festivals, important holidays, introduce
France, French customers and the French-speaking world in general.
Classes will be taught by Mme Sally Holt in the French
Room, Room 50.
Please give your child every encouragement in this new venture
by asking them what they are learning and to show you their French
scrapbook from time to time.
