Paris

Paris is the capital city of France, and is divided into two 'banks' by the River Seine (the Left Bank and the Right Bank). Paris was named after the Celtic tribe, the Parisii, who on the Ile de la Cité in the middle of the River Seine. However, it was the Romans who turned Paris into a city and named it Lutelia (the 'City of Light').

You can travel along the Seine in boats called "Bateaux Mouches"
("Pleasure Boats"). At night, you can see Paris lit up.

The quickest way to get around Paris in on Le Métro (the underground railway system).
