Physical Education

Greythorn Primary School offers a comprehensive physical education program with a strong emphasis on developing fine and gross motor skills at every level, promoting enjoyment in all sports. The senior school participates in the North Balwyn District interschool sport carnival in terms 1 and 2.  Students are given the opportunity to try out for the following sports: cricket, softball, rounders, volleyball, bat tennis, netball, football, soccer and tee-ball. During the year, we hold school carnivals for swimming and athletics for students in years 3-6 and a cross country/fun run afternoon for the whole school. Students in Prep – Year 2 also partake in P-2 sport mornings where they have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities.  The North Balwyn District holds annual carnivals in swimming, basketball, cross-country and athletics. Throughout the year the school provides clinics such as soccer, baseball, rugby and netball to improve skill levels in major games and to introduce a wide range of sports to students.
