GPS School Council Message

As a School Council, we have relished the optimism of the start of the school year for 2022.

As a School Council, we have relished the optimism of the start of the school year for 2022. After 2 years of disruption, it has been a joy to see the students and staff embrace so many opportunities. Led so capably by Andrew and Claire, the extraordinary teachers have worked collaboratively and tirelessly to ensure camps, sporting events, musical ensembles, chess clubs, Aeroschools, Harmony Day, plus other experiences, have been able to run! We have thoroughly enjoyed cheering on our Greythorn students in sporting competitions, and sharing celebrations and initiatives designed by the year 6 school leaders. In addition, the buzz of curious, inquiring minds and learning stretches through the school, from our newest Foundation students to Year 6. Teachers have developed rich learning programs that continue to encourage critical and creative thinking. A great start and thank you to all of our teachers!

We would like to thank the PFA for their engagement with the community, already organising Class Representatives and welcome events. In Term 1, the Lunar Festival was a particular highlight for the whole school and it was great to see so many families, both existing and new to Greythorn, attend the function. We know that the PFA are always encouraging parents to get involved in events and fundraising initiatives, so please keep an eye out for notices and meeting times in Term 2.
We look forward to continuing to support the Greythorn community into Term 2 and beyond, with continued optimism for a productive school year.

Enjoy the term break where you might rest and recharge!
