ANZAC Commemoration Ceremonies

Our school captains along with Mr Searle and Ms Knell attended the Kew RSL ANZAC Day dawn service on Thursday 25 April. It was well worth the early start to represent GPS with pride and lay a wreath.

Tuesday 23 April was also a memorable moment as our Year 6 student leaders had the opportunity to be a part of an ANZAC commemoration. There were lots of speeches and Electra and Kate laid a wreath at the bottom of the ANZAC statue. We were one of many other schools, showing our respect for all Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought at Gallipoli in 1915 during the First World War. We also remembered all Australians and New Zealanders who have served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations since then. We all had a very solemn minute to remember all the soldiers who fought to give us freedom.
